Tanker course in Polaroil

In collaboration with Marstal Navigation School, a tanker course has been conducted for Polaroil personnel from the coast. The course takes place in the “Taqqissuut” course room in the Service Center in Sisimiut.

Tanker course is a course on important workflows and rules in a tank farm and a tanker, and not least on safety and emergency preparedness.

The purpose of the course is to gain the necessary knowledge to follow important rules, and in the content of the course there are international standards of SOLAS, MARPOL, ISGOTT and others that relate to liquid fuels and product knowledge.

Fire prevention, fire preparedness, environmental safety, tank cleaning rules, ship communication, flash point, first aid, visit to tank facilities and finally a test.

Since 2010, the Tanker Course has been conducted for the ninth time. Now 78 employees have completed the tanker course.

We want everyone to pass the test tomorrow Saturday, March 16, 2019.

The instructor was Michael Christensen.

The following participated and everyone must pass the test to get 2 certificates which are Terminal Operators and Tanker Certificate.
